Special session at CONNECTIONS™, featuring Stringify, Centercode, Internet of Things Consortium, Audio Analytic, and Greenwave Systems, examines user experience and connected IoT platforms
Parks Associates released new research showing roughly one-third of U.S. broadband households report they are familiar with smart home devices. In addition, more consumers see value in smart home devices, including smart door locks, video door bells, and networked cameras, than are familiar with the products, indicating a robust opportunity for broader adoption and usage.
CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference, May 23-25 in San Francisco, features a special session sponsored by Greenwave Systems, “Smart Home Platforms: Revolutionizing the Consumer Experience,” examining solutions and business strategies for companies to enhance the value of IoT devices for customers.

“More than one-fourth of households own at least one smart product, but only 12% own a smart home system,” said Tom Kerber, Director, IoT Strategy, Parks Associates. “CONNECTIONS™ will address how service providers, product developers, and manufacturers can bridge that gap and adapt their strategies to sell more, both as part of the system sale and post-installation.”
Smart Home: Quest for Compelling Use Cases, new research from Parks Associates, shows that nearly 70% of smart product owners own a device that is not connected to a smart home system and only 35% of smart product owners have the product integrated into a smart home system.
“We’re seeing an ever-increasing demand from customers wanting to use speech and gesture to interact with IoT devices and services. This trend is a focal point in the industry today, and we’re looking forward to exploring it further in our upcoming CONNECTIONS™ panel,” said Vaughn Rhodes, VP, Product Management, Greenwave Systems. “CONNECTIONS™ has proven to be a great place to share ideas with leaders in the IoT ecosystem, and we’re thrilled to be again be participating in the annual event.”
