A new Parks Associates report is projecting that global mobile data revenue will increase from $386 billion in 2015 to $630 billion in 2020. North America and Western Europe will see only minimal growth and the Asia & Pacific region will reportedly see the most. Cable operators are promoting WiFi hotspots, and roughly 70 percent of U.S. mobile consumers are interested in WiFi-only data plans, according to the study.
