Roku is the most popular brand of streaming media players, followed by Amazon’s Fire TV, according to new data from Parks Associates.
“Historically, Amazon and Roku have dominated the streaming media player market, and our research shows their dominance continues,” analyst Sarah Lee said in a statement.
Lee said streaming device competitors such as Apple TV and Google Chromecast have maintained their respective market shares, “but do not show much growth as of yet.”
“Today, smart TVs are much more affordable, as are streaming media players,” Lee said in a statement. “These devices offer consumers cost-effective solutions as well as an ecosystem-consistent experience.”
